HomeProvider StoriesBeing able to see my patient recover is extremely rewarding Being able to see my patient recover is extremely rewarding October 8, 2024 Dr. Jacquelyn Lange-Halley, Psychiatrist Read the transcript Being able to see my patient recover, it was extremely rewarding. It was one example of many that resulted in me being more and more confident in using GeneSight that allowed me to treat many more patients and have similar experiences. We provide outpatient psychiatric medical services. It means that we treat patients with medical conditions and provide medications and therapeutic interventions. As a practitioner, it’s very frustrating to not be able to provide the care that’s going to alleviate this pain symptoms that the patients are experiencing. And the way that GeneSight helps is it allows us to understand the patient’s biology to target certain types of medicines that may be more effective for them early in the course of treatment options. GeneSight testing is very easy to options. GeneSight testing is very easy to use. The process is very fast. Ordering the test is very simple. It’s a very quick swab. The test is sent off to GeneSight and the results are received within a week. I review with each patient their results in detail and they’re often shocked, to to recognize that they have certain variations that actually explain why they have not done well or had bad side effects in the past on certain medicines. And that that’s exciting for them. They become a lot more hopeful. It also allows me to build a trust and rapport with them that they’re even willing to try another medicine.
