We know the process of finding medications for mental health conditions like depression, anxiety or ADHD can be time-consuming and debilitating. The GeneSight® test may help.
The GeneSight Psychotropic test is a genetic test that shows your healthcare provider how your genes may affect medication outcomes.
The GeneSight test may reveal which medications to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions that:
Has a mental health medication failed you in the past?
Is your current mental health medication not working?
Does your mental health medication cause unwanted side effects?

on average in total annual medication costs by patients who received GeneSight testing compared to traditional approaches, according to a large study1
Our goal is to make the GeneSight test affordable and accessible to patients.
Many insurance plans, including Medicare, often cover the entire or a significant portion of the test.
We offer a financial assistance plan for eligible patients to help with the cost of the GeneSight test. Use our cost estimator to see if you qualify.
If your cost is $100 or more, we offer an interest-free payment plan to spread out the cost for up to 12 months.
98%of patients pay $330 or less for their GeneSight test*
$0is the typical out-of-pocket cost for patients on Medicare (Part B) and Medicaid
If you decide to use your insurance and we determine that your cost will exceed $330, we will contact you before processing the test and before billing you to make sure you would like to proceed.
All patients are eligible for the reduced Self-Pay option of $330. Self-Pay may be the most affordable option for patients whose out-of-pocket cost is estimated to be higher than $330, for those whose insurance does not cover the GeneSight test, or for those without insurance.
The GeneSight test provides genetic insights to help inform your clinician’s treatment plan, potentially reducing medication trial and error, and shortening your road to recovery.
The report also includes information on how a patient’s smoking status may affect their body’s metabolism of certain medications.
The report classifies over 60 mental health medications into four categories.
The GeneSight test results do not provide information on disease diagnosis, medication allergies, drug-drug interactions, or which medications will work best.
