My name is Anthony Hall. I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I do a telemedicine practice here in Fayetteville, Georgia. I see a full range of patients, from young children to adults and to senior citizens. It started off when I was a very young child, I had a great grandparent that had dementia. So, I always grew up having that, experience in my life I was always curious as to why, how I wanted to know. I found that I really have a passion for working with, patients that have mental health problems.

I thought that I would need more training prior to using the GeneSight. It’s very easy to order the test. The patients get it at home. You know, within about two business days, they send it back in. You know, in a couple weeks, we have results.

The process is pretty seamless. And I think that that’s the beauty of the whole thing. And I think that if more providers knew how easy it was and how effective it is, I think a lot more people would be on board. I found that it’s very simple to read.

I feel that the results and the information are very clear and straightforward.

And, it’s very easy to understand. It’s very easy to talk about with the patients. It also gives them a sense of being a part of the decision-making process which in turn gives them much more confidence in the medication, in the treatment, and in the provider.

This story is one clinician’s personal experience. Other experiences may vary.

As with all genetic tests, the GeneSight test results have limitations and do not constitute medical advice. The test results are designed to be just one part of a larger, complete patient assessment, which would include proper diagnosis and consideration of medical history, other medications being taken, family history, and other factors.
