After taking the GeneSight® test, here’s what’s next!
Now that your DNA sample has been collected, your healthcare provider will finalize your GeneSight order.
Your sample is sent to our lab for analysis, and test results are typically returned to your healthcare provider approximately 2 days after we receive your sample.
Your healthcare provider can review your results with you on your next visit and may use them to inform your treatment plan.
You can request a copy of the report from the healthcare provider. You can also request a patient report form by emailing info@genesight.com or calling us at 866.757.9204.
Here are some things we would like you to know.
Our goal is to make the GeneSight test affordable and accessible to patients.
Many insurance plans, including Medicare, often cover the entire or a significant portion of the test.
We offer a financial assistance plan for eligible patients to help with the cost of the GeneSight test. Use our cost estimator to see if you qualify.
If your cost is $100 or more, we offer an interest-free payment plan to spread out the cost for up to 12 months.
98%
of patients pay $330 or less for their GeneSight test1
$0
is the typical out-of-pocket cost for patients on Medicare (Part B) and Medicaid
If you decide to use your insurance and we determine that your cost will exceed $330, we will contact you before processing the test and before billing you to make sure you would like to proceed.
All patients are eligible for the reduced self-pay option of $330. Self-Pay may be the most affordable option for patients whose out-of-pocket cost is estimated to be higher than $330, for those whose insurance does not cover the GeneSight test, or for those without insurance.
The GeneSight test report may help you avoid multiple medication trials by providing information about which medications may require dose adjustments, be less likely to work, or have an increased risk of side effects based on your genetic information.
The report also includes information on how a patient’s smoking status may affect their body’s metabolism of certain medications.
The report classifies over 60 mental health medications into four categories.
The GeneSight test results do not provide information on disease diagnosis, medication allergies, drug-drug interactions, or which medications will work best.
