Your healthcare provider ordered the GeneSight test and sent the kit for you to take at home.
Reasons your healthcare provider may have sent you the GeneSight test:
We know the process of finding medications that work can be frustrating, time-consuming and debilitating.
Fewer than 50% of individuals with depression respond to their first medication.1
That’s why we created the GeneSight test.
The results of the test can inform your healthcare provider about how you may break down or respond to certain mental health medications. Finding the medication that works for you can help you finally start feeling like yourself again.
After completing your kit and sending it back to our lab, your healthcare provider will receive your results around 3 days.
Here is a sample of what the report looks like that will contain your results. The report classifies over 60 mental health medications into four categories based on your genetics and may help inform your unique treatment plan for medication selection.
The GeneSight test is quick and easy!
Once we have your sample and required information, we’ll send your results to your healthcare provider within 3 days.
Our goal is to make the GeneSight test affordable and accessible to patients.
Many insurance plans, including Medicare, often cover the entire or a significant portion of the test.
We offer a financial assistance plan for eligible patients to help with the cost of the GeneSight test. Use our cost estimator to see if you qualify.
If your cost is $100 or more, we offer an interest-free payment plan to spread out the cost for up to 12 months.
98%
of patients pay $330 or less for their GeneSight test2
$0
is the typical out-of-pocket cost for patients on Medicare (Part B) and Medicaid
If you decide to use your insurance and we determine that your cost will exceed $330, we will contact you before processing the test and before billing you to make sure you would like to proceed.
All patients are eligible for the reduced self-pay option of $330. Self-Pay may be the most affordable option for patients whose out-of-pocket cost is estimated to be higher than $330, for those whose insurance does not cover the GeneSight test, or for those without insurance.
We want the process of taking the GeneSight test to be quick and easy. We’ve outlined what to expect from the kit and step-by-step instructions are below.
For your convenience, we also have a “How it Works” video to visually show the process.
