HomeProvider StoriesI see the positive outcomes, I can’t argue with that. I see the positive outcomes, I can’t argue with that. September 12, 2017 James A. Smith, MD “I see the positive outcomes, I can’t argue with that. It’s a no brainer.” Read the transcript I am Dr. James A. Smith, I’m the medical director and managing partner for Carolina Partners in Mental HealthCare. You have an average 15 minutes with a patient in some cases. And in that 15 minutes we are required to interview the patient, review their medications, make a clinical decision and complete a note. And so in the time that we have with our patients the most effective part is to be able to look down at that test and see green, select a medication from that green column that says use as directed and hopefully you get the best outcome. GeneSight is an extremely effective test for the physician to be able to select the appropriate medication. Genetic testing, GeneSight specifically, allows me to be able to reduce patient cost and this allows us to be able to give you a better outcome because I want you to get better sooner. As I say to folks all the time when they question the science, you can believe what you want to believe, patient outcomes are what matters. And so I have supporting science, I accept that science and I see the positive outcomes. I can’t argue with that, it’s a no-brainer. Patient Which Mental Health Provider Should I Consider?
